New Ford Bronco & Bronco Sport

New 2021 Bronco and 2021 Bronco Sport Bring Off-Road Swagger to Ford Model Lineup

After years of teasing the return of its iconic off-roader, Ford has finally released two new SUV models under the Bronco nameplate. The new 2021 Bronco and 2021 Bronco Sport rejuvenate the Ford SUV lineup with exciting all-terrain capability and rugged looks to match.

The new 2021 Bronco is a return to form for a classic Ford name. The purpose-built off-roader uses old-school engineering and retro styling to produce a singular driving experience geared toward enthusiasts. Meanwhile, the new 2021 Bronco Sport offers a smaller, unibody alternative that still has impressive off-road chops.

About the 2021 Ford Bronco

The original Ford Bronco of 1960s has grown a cult following of ardent off-road fans. Its boxy looks and no-nonsense capability made it one of the best all-terrain vehicles of its generation. The all-new Bronco invokes that same attitude with its homage styling and straightforward capability while offering modernized technology and features.

For starters, the new Bronco looks the part. Available in either a two-door or four-door configuration, the Bronco features a boxy shape and circular headlamps. It also comes standard with a removable roof and removable doors.

The 2021 Bronco is built on a body-on-frame design -- just like the original. This engineering choice, combined with the Bronco's standard solid rear axle, offers an ideal platform for off-road use. An independent front suspension system preserves excellent articulation while allowing for sharp handling and a pleasant on-road ride quality.

High ground clearance and four-wheel drive are standard across all models. Though, drivers can choose between a part-time four-wheel drive system and automatic full-time system based on trim configuration. A range of available packages can emphasize varying functionalities and performance styles. The new Sasquatch package, for instance, is available on every trim level and adds features like 35-inch mud tires, a factory suspension lift, and locking differentials.

Robust power is available in the new Bronco. Its standard 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine 270 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque while the available 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 makes 310 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. A seven-speed manual transmission is standard for the 2.3-liter EcoBoost while a ten-speed automatic is available as an option. The automatic comes standard with the 2.7-liter V6.

About the 2021 Ford Bronco Sport

Ford developed the new 2021 Bronco Sport as a slightly softer, smaller alternative to the hardcore Bronco. The Bronco Sport is a perfect fit for drivers who want a vehicle with legitimate capability and easy on-road drivability at the same time.

The new Bronco Sport certainly has the rugged looks that many drivers near Southfield and Oak Park want. Black body trim cladding, a safari style roof, and impressive ground clearance give the Bronco Sport the all-terrain attitude that its name implies. It has a fun and practical cabin as well with up to 65.2 cubic feet of cargo space.

Underneath, the Bronco Sport differs from its larger counterpart with its unibody construction and independent suspension setup. This design may be good for on-road comfort and handling, but don't doubt the Bronco Sport's off-road chops. All models come with four-wheel drive as well as G.O.A.T. (Go Over Any Type of Terrain) modes. There's even a forward-facing trail camera view to help navigate tricky obstacles.

Two engines are available for the Bronco Sport. A 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine makes 181 horsepower and 191 pound-feet of torque. Meanwhile, an available 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine makes 245 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque.
